Our goals for stopping uranium mining in Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon Trust will continue to work on uranium mining issues to ensure that...

  • Federal legislation is passed — and signed by the president — to withdraw from further mineral entry lands that are managed by the BLM’s Arizona Strip District and the Tusayan District of the Forest Service.
  • Uranium companies can no longer plunder our drought-stricken region’s sources of clean water.
  • We don’t risk poisoning our children or the Grand Canyon.

We have learned enough about the uranium industry’s dismal record to reject their current claims that “uranium mining is much cleaner now.” It’s just not worth it.
