Our goals for renewable energy projects in Native America

The Grand Canyon Trust will continue to help Native American communities achieve the goals of...

  • Establishing the Shonto Rural Renewable Energy Company as a business.
  • Maximizing the ownership potential of Shonto and Cameron communities in larger renewable energy projects. Such work will include creating a predevelopment entity that is co-owned by Shonto for providing renewable energy for the western Navajo region.
  • Ensuring that incentives are available to Tribes for developing and investing in renewable energy. These incentives should be comparable to those available to others off-reservation.
