Four Forests Restoration Initiative
Northern Arizona’s ponderosa pine forests are overstocked with small trees that now carry unnaturally large severe wildfires. These fires threaten communities, municipal watersheds, and wildlife, and have led the northern Arizona community to develop an unprecedented consensus agreement known as the Four Forests Restoration Initiative, which outlines the need and appropriate strategies for landscape-scale forest restoration and community protection.
