Managing Livestock Grazing on Streams on the Elko District and the Need to Be Adaptive, compiled by Carol Evans, Fish  Biologist on the Nevada BLM Elko District, shows the astounding riparian restoration that has been accomplished on the Elko District by managing livestock differently. Beaver have returned to hundreds of miles of Elko District streams, to the benefit of livestock, fish (including Lahontan cutthroat trout), and the water table.
