Current job description:
Nikolai is Senior Program Director for water and open space issues. His advocacy work includes issues
affecting the Colorado River, Greater Grand Canyon, northern Arizona regional water, and Arizona state
lands.
Responsibilities:
Represents the Trust’s interests in the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program
Directs Colorado River litigation including legal actions against federal agencies to improve their science
and policy applications
Works within the Coconino Plateau Water Advisory Council to determine strategies for developing
environmentally benign water supplies and conservation strategies for northern Arizona
Advocates against Lake Powell pipelines being allowed to criss-cross the region
Advocates for Arizona state land reform to include protections for 60,000 acres in northern Arizona
Works for further implementation of Flagstaff Area Regional Plan
