VOTE "YES" ON ALL FIVE, MAKE MOUNTAIN LINE THRIVE!
Grand Canyon Trust is urging Flagstaff voters to vote YES on propositions 401, 402, 403, 404, and 405 in order to ensure a comprehensive public transportation system for our community.
More and more Flagstaff residents -- including the young, the elderly, and the disabled -- are relying on public transportation to get to work, school, and to go shopping or visit friends. Ridership is up substantially and will continue to increase as gas prices force people out of their cars. And, the new, quiet hybrid buses mean less air and noise pollution for all of us.
Flagstaff's Public Transit system tax (.175% sales tax) must be extended by voters this May for the Mountain Line bus service to continue beyond 2010. If Prop 401 doesn't pass, the Mountain Line bus service will be ended.
Voting YES on all five measures will bring Flagstaff cleaner air, less traffic congestion and make it more affordable and accessible for all residents.
It's an all mail ballot election -- watch for your ballot in the mail soon.
