Favorable Court Ruling on RS2477 Threats in Utah

Attorneys for the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance announced August 31 that the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court opinion that denied a motion filed by Southern Utah Wildnerness Alliance (SUWA), The Wilderness Society (TWS), and Grand Canyon Trust (GCT) to intervene in the State of Utah and San Juan County's RS2477 lawsuit over Salt Creek Canyon, Canyonlands National Park. The decision clears the path for conservation groups such as SUWA, TWS, and GCT to intervene as defendants in State of Utah and county Quiet Title Act/RS2477 cases, which is a significant victory. A special thanks from Grand Canyon Trust goes out to SUWA's legal team, Steve Bloch and Heidi McIntosh, and to Ted Zukoski and Eric Biber from Earthjustice.
