The Southwest Heritage Foundation needs your help now to preserve an important piece of ancient history. An archeological treasure known as the Navajo Twins site or Bluff P 1 site, located in Bluff, Utah is now being offered for sale by the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.

The largely intact site contains the remains of a village dating to the Pueblo 1 period (700-900 A.D.)  First recorded by Museum of Northern Arizona archeologists in the 1930s, it’s one of the larger sites of its kind and it is where a unique type of ceramic pottery known as Bluff Black-on-red originated.

The village site and surrounding cliffs encompass about 16 acres. The purchase would not only preserve this rare and special archeological treasure, it would also provide the community with open space, interpretive public education, scientific research potential, as well as offering visitors a scenic and spiritual respite surrounded by hanging gardens and rare primroses.
