Mary Christina Wood, keynote speaker at the 2007 Southwest Renewable Energy Conference in Boulder, Colorado, delivered a powerful speech on what the future holds of we don't get control of greenhouse gas emissions.
She said: "If we fail, we effectively lock the doors of our heating greenhouse and throw out the keys, trapping ourselves and future generations inside as disaster unfolds across the planet in the long term."

Mary Christina Wood is the Philip H. Knight Professor of Law and Morse Center for Law and Politics Resident Scholar at the University of Oregon School of Law, where she teaches natural resources law, federal Indian law, public lands law, wildlife law, hazardous waste and property law. She is the founding director of the school's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program.
