Bears Ears National Monument Cooperative Agreement

The inter-governmental cooperative agreement signed on June 18, 2022, directs the cooperative management of Bears Ears National Monument by the Bears Ears Commission, which consists of one elected officer each from the Hopi Tribe, Navajo Nation, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation, and the Pueblo of Zuni, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.
