Rethinking Economic Development around the Grand Canyon

Dangling the carrot of jobs and economic opportunity, outside developers are pushing the Navajo Nation to build a tramway and mega-resort on the Grand Canyon’s eastern rim. But tribal leaders are looking at alternative economic development plans that honor the Navajo way of life and build a place-based sustainable economy for the Navajo Nation.
