Pleasant Creek Campground is a convenient place to stay on a Utah parks road trip
A string of campgrounds links Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Pleasant Creek Campground, the second forest service campground heading south along UT 12, is a perfect overnight stop for any road trip.
Ponderosa pines separate the campsites, and if you get there early, you might be able to snag a site with creek access. Bring your fishing gear and cast for trout in Pleasant Creek or nearby Lower Bowns Reservoir (2 miles east of the campground). Trailers over 25 feet are not recommended for this campground.
Nearby Attractions
Both Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument offer hiking and scenic driving opportunities. You can also find multiple mountain biking trails in Dixie National Forest, along with access to the Great Western Trail, a 4,445-mile route that connects the northern and southern U.S. borders and travels through Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.
