Head to Cannonville Visitor Center with questions about visiting Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument
The Cannonville Visitor Center sits on the north end of Cottonwood Canyon Road, a backcountry route that connects UT 12 with Hwy 89. In addition to providing weather reports, hiking recommendations, and road reports, the visitor center offers interpretive displays on human geography in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. An ethno-botanical garden outside the visitor center showcases 19th century agricultural practices, and artifacts inside tell the story of Paiute Indians in southern Utah. The visitor center is open from mid-March to mid-November.
