Phone 2 Action - Tusayan

This proposal would guzzle precious groundwater that feeds the Grand Canyon’s seeps and springs, strain existing infrastructure, and negatively impact the surrounding national forest and park.

To move forward, the developer needs permission from the U.S. Forest Service to build roads and bring utilities across national forest land, paving the way for the resort.

Please urge the U.S. Forest Service to:
  • Deny road and utility easements for developments that would drain the Grand Canyon’s regional aquifer or that will harm the Grand Canyon for future generations.
  • Require a full environmental review — called an “environmental impact statement” — to evaluate the direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts of the entire development project before accepting the developer’s application to use 52 acres of the Kaibab National Forest for road and utility access to service the development.
