Prepare for your trip to the Grand Canyon

Ready for your Grand Canyon hike or backpacking trip? Read through the basic gear list below, and check out these pro tips


Day-hiking gear

  • Small backpack
  • Water (at least 3 liters)
  • Food and snacks
  • Headlamp
  • Extra layers and/or jacket (check the forecast)
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, lip balm
