About Our Arizona Projects

The Grand Canyon Trust has been working to protect and restore natural resources in Arizona — particularly on the Kaibab Plateau, north of Grand Canyon — for many years. Our current projects address two key issues:

  • Forest Restoration: Impacts to the health of Arizona forests that have occurred as a result of historical management practices, which have prioritized commodity production over other values. Logging, overgrazing, fire suppression, predator killing , and road construction have all compromised the ecological integrity of these forests. Learn more...
  • State Trust Land Reform: Conservation of open space and sensitive lands in the Flagstaff area. The Trust has been active in several initiatives to protect important areas such as Rogers Lake, Dry Lake, Obersvatory Mesa, and NAU Centennial Forest lands, among others. Learn more...
