Our goals for meeting growing water demands in the Grand Canyon region
These goals focus on developing sustainable supplies and include:
- Developing a multifaceted approach to meeting the region’s growing water demands — an approach that includes conservation and increases in efficiency as key components
- Minimizing the impacts of groundwater pumping on Grand Canyon’s fragile springs and seeps so they can continue to support diverse ecosystems
- Ensuring that the needs of Native Americans are considered in regional water supply planning
- Minimizing our future reliance on large, expensive water developments
