How to Use Our Website

We hope you enjoy using our website. Many features have been incorporated to help make our site easier and more convenient to use.

Note: We will often use the word, “browser” or “browser software”. These refer to the software you use to view the Web. Such software includes Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, and Safari. This may also refer to the Web window inside your AOL application.

Viewing this Site
Our site makes use of several current Web technologies and should be viewed using current versions of your favorite browser software. If the site appears strangely, you may be viewing with an out-of-date web browser. Please be sure to keep your browser software updated – This will enhance your overall experience of the Web.

What’s New?
This feature is found on the right side (middle) of our homepage. This is where we list project updates, news, and other items related to the Trust and the community. Clicking on one of these links will take you a detail page for that item. From here you may use your browser’s “back” button to return to the homepage, click, “What’s New Archive” to go a listing of current and past items, or use page navigation as usual.

Navigation
Most site navigation elements are grouped on the left side of each page.

Mini-Menu
A ‘mini-menu’ may be found in the upper left corner of all site pages. It lists, Home, Join Us, Donate, Sitemap, and Help links.

Mini_Menu

Buttons
Our main navigation buttons appear down the left side of the page. Each button is identified by a unique photo and text denoting the section name.

Drop-Down Menus
As you move your mouse cursor along the left side button bar, you will notice that animated menus will appear to the right of certain buttons. These drop-down menus let you navigate further into the site without having to click several times. Just allow your mouse cursor to hover (pause without clicking) over a button with a menu, then move the cursor to the right and down and click on your selection. Some menus have submenus, indicated by small green arrows on the right side of that item. Hovering over the items causes the submenu to appear to the right. Just move your mouse cursor to the right to move onto a submenu and so on. This may take a little getting used to.

If the menus seem to "stick" open, just click your mouse anywhere on the page that does not contain a link. This will cause the menus to retract.

Drop-Down Menu

If you prefer, you may also navigate by simply clicking the button of your choice, and then making choices from index pages the allow you to "drill down" to the page you desire.

Search
The Search form appears at the top of every page. On the homepage, it is in the upper left corner. On all other site pages Search may be found to the upper right. The use Search, enter your search term and either click the Go button or press the Enter key on your keyboard. Your search results will appear on a new page. Click the linked text to access the desired page.

Site Map
This feature allows you to see the site laid out as an outline. All of the page names listed are also links to those pages.

Page Links
As you navigate the site, you will often see text that is underlined in green. This indicates a standard hyperlink. Wherever possible, we have linked to related pages throughout the site.

Outside Links - In some cases, links will take you to outside sites. Outside links will open a new browser window; you may return to our site by simply closing that new window. Such links are offered for your conveniences – The Grand Canyon Trust does not specifically endorse content offered by outside sites.

Email a Friend Email
This feature is accessed via a small envelope icon found to the upper right on all site pages. By clicking on the icon you will be taken to a form that allows you to email a friend and invite them to join the Grand Canyon Trust.

Print this PagePrint
This feature is accessed via a small printer icon found to the upper right on all site pages. Clicking on the icon opens a new browser window containing a printer friendly version of the page you are just viewing. To print the page, just click your browser’s Print button or select Print from the File menu. When finished, you may close this window.
