Our goals for southern Utah’s “three forests”

Utah Forests BlogThe Grand Canyon Trust’s work focuses on the Dixie, Fishlake, and Manti-La Sal National Forests, which are located in southern Utah. One day, we hope to see management strategies that...

  • Retain and restore the functioning of native species and ecological systems.
  • Use objective, repeatable field data and other scientific information that we gather — the type of information that managers have not previously considered.
  • Propose conservation options and actively engage participants in decision-making processes.
  • Increase the protection of each forest’s natural heritage by engaging diverse, nontraditional organizations that can contribute varying views, values, skills, and field data.
