Wilda is Diné (Navajo) from Black Mesa, Arizona. She is of the Bitter Water Clan born for the Black Sheep Clan. She earned a bachelor's degree in environmental science and a master's degree in climate science and solutions, both from Northern Arizona University. Wilda is currently a research fellow with the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis in partnership with the Grand Canyon Trust. Her research is based on energy transition in the Southwest with a focus on coal-impacted communities of the Hopi and Navajo. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
