Grand Canyon Trust has already helped conserve state trust lands in Utah.

We have...

  • Helped acquire state trust lands for Parriott Mesa, the Castleton Tower Preservation Initiative, critical wildlife habitat in Castle Valley, and the Pueblo I archaeological site in Bluff, Utah
  • Worked closely with the Utah Trust Lands Administration (SITLA) since 1998 to find conservation solutions for its sensitive lands
  • Managed a planning project on 5,000 acres of state lands in the Castle Valley municipal watershed
  • Worked since 2004 for passage of the Utah Recreational Land Exchange Act, which gets state lands out of sensitive areas in southern Utah and consolidates the federal estate. In August 2009, President Obama signed this Act into law.
