Our focus over the coming years is to create a new movement for public lands protection.

We are working to acheive this goal by supporting existing and cultivating new advocates to develop and execute a conservation agenda for southern Utah. Our task is to gather and network our known allies, and, through them, engage and empower other opinion leaders. By supporting the efforts already in place and cultivating new support among youth, local opinion leaders, business owners, recreationists, hunters, anglers and outfitters, we will change the political metrics in southern Utah. We believe that building local networks that can advocate for conservation and counter anti-environment rhetoric while holding public officials accountable is essential to tipping the scales toward public lands protection in southern Utah.

We continue to work with a broad coalition of sporting, recreational and conservation interests, to unite two disparate Forest Service Wilderness Proposals into a single Unified Forest Wilderness Proposal for southern Utah’s three National Forests as threats emerge.

Working in conjunction with our partners and the Trust’s other southern Utah programs, we’re securing interim administrative protections for land, air, and water on critical conservation lands across southern Utah’s three National Forests. We’re working on issues such as recreation, watershed restoration, noxious weed removal, and implementation of sound management decisions.
