Our goals for protecting southern Utah’s wildlands...

Our overarching goal for the program is to ensure that the ecological integrity and wildness of southern Utah’s public lands are better protected and restored.

Our goals for the Utah Wildlands Program include:

  • Advocating for congressional and administrative protections for southern Utah’s public lands, including designation of significant amounts of new BLM and Forest Service wilderness in Congress.
  • Working on individual National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects and, in the larger context of forest travel, resource and recreation planning, to ensure interim administrative protections are secured on critical conservation lands before can be protected by Congress.
  • Networking existing and developing new conservation voices in southern Utah communities to create a new base of support for clean air, water, and healthy public lands.
