Broad-based support builds for 1 million acre withdrawal at Grand Canyon

As we near the deadline of  May 4 (extended from April 4 on March 29 by BLM) for comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed withdrawal of acreage adjacent to Grand Canyon and its watersheds from uranium mining, support for Alternative B, the withdrawal of approximately one million acres, is gaining favor.

As of today, several regional organizations, elected officials,  and an out-of-state entity have submitted comments supporting Alternative B.
