Lainie grew up on a small horse ranch in Patagonia, Arizona, and has always been outdoors — whether pondering, exploring, or advocating for the environment. She has had the privilege of studying native fish and aquatic ecosystems in the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and has also spent many years working with local conservation and education nonprofits. With her husband, she cofounded the Azulita Project, a nonprofit focused on reducing plastic waste and recapturing ocean-bound plastic. She is awed by the wonders and beauty of nature and looks forward to working with passionate people in incredible places while at the Trust. Lainie lives in Flagstaff with her amazing family and band of animals.
So, never worry about failure. It's gonna happen. But that's okay: go ahead, take chances...and you might just find that what feels like failure isn't failure at all, it's what inspires you to dream even bigger.
