"Yá’át’ééh.” This is how Nizhoni Tallas says “hello” in their traditional Navajo language. Nizhoni grew up in Rough Rock, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. They recently graduated with their master’s in natural resources and are now in a Ph.D. program at the University of Arizona. Nizhoni is excited about the opportunity to grow and learn new skills as the water advocacy intern at the Grand Canyon Trust. They enjoy being outside, traveling, and finding the nearest boba shop wherever they go.
